Prize Patrol!!!

Those of you that are attending the AYA Ice Fishing Derby on Lake Winnipeg on Sunday, March 14...make sure you are using a Northland Fishing Tackle lure!  Not only will these lures increase your fishing success, they could always help you win extra prizes! 
I will be attending the Ice Derby on Sunday and I'll be patrolling around checking out the lures that people are using.  If you are using a Northland product you will win a tackle prize pack.  I have 25 prize packs loaded with ice gear and at the end of the day all the winners will be entered in a draw to win a huge $300 fishing tackle prize!  So make sure you are using a Northland lure like a Buck-Shot or Macho Minnow Spoon!

Ice fishing action!!!

Prior to attending the Mid-Canada Boat Show in Winnipeg over the weekend, I spent quite a bit of time on the ice.  Action was okay but it will really start to heat up as we get deeper into March! 

Walleye action has been good late in the day on 1/4 oz Buck-Shot Rattle Spoons and Macho Minnow Spoons tipped with a minnow head. 

Pike have been coming on Big-Tooth rigs tipped with large Ciscos.  (Harlan Kruid)

 Lake trout have been being caught on Northland Slurpies Jigging Tubes and the new 4 inch Slurpies Minnow rigged on a 3/8 Northland Thumper Jig.  (Kyle Moore)

Golden Eagle in Sunset Country

Enjoy the photos below of a GOLDEN EAGLE that was caught by one of my trail cameras hitting a wolf bait in January.  These birds are rare in this region, especially at this time of year.  These cameras are so fun, you never know what you'll see!
